About us

Wairarapa Volunteer Centre is a subsidiary business of the Wairarapa Community Centre, which is run by a trust. The trustees are a group of volunteers who are pleased to be at the point of expanding service delivery to the local community.

Wairarapa Volunteer Centre is a member of Volunteering New Zealand and the 19th Volunteer Centre established throughout New Zealand. We have received tremendous support and encouragement from our sister centres and VNZ, for which we are immensely grateful for.

We cover the whole of the Wairarapa from Masterton, Carterton, Greytown, Featherston and Martinborough. However as with anything, there are grey areas and cross overs.

Welcome to the Wairarapa Volunteer Centre!

We seek to celebrate, support and promote volunteering in the Wairarapa commuity and to help make volunteering a positive and rewarding experience for all involved.

How do I get started?

That's easy!  You can search for volunteer opportunities and register online or in person at our office.

What can I expect if I come into the office?

We will offer you a drink and will chat with you to find out what you like to do, then help you search through our database of volunteer opportunities to determine which roles might suit you best. We can provide you with information about the roles we have listed, then based on the conversation we might be able to recommend some specific roles straight away.

We welcome all enquiries.
